Calibration

Know how calibration works before you buy load bars

Before you buy any load bar scales or scales system, make sure you know how calibration works. Cheaper old style systems need frequent calibration with a very heavy known weight. Every AgriEID load bar system is easy to calibrate: there is a simple video to follow and only a 50 kg known weight is required, or you can just stand on them.

A 50 kg known weight

All that is required to calibrate an AgriEID load bar system. Or you can just stand on them.

A simple video to follow

Calibration is done at the indicator, on your own farm, step by step with the video.

Saved and rebalanced

The system saves its calibration settings and rebalances frequently, so calibration is infrequently required, if ever at all.

The known weight it takes

Cheaper old style systems are calibrated with up to 50% of their maximum load capacity.

of known weight to calibrate a 2,000 kg system: up to 50% of the maximum load capacity.

How often it needs doing

Older systems need calibration after a simple movement by a heavy and active animal.

Cheaper old style systems

Every knock from a heavy, active animal can mean calibrating again.

Calibration can become a regular requirement on a cheap set of load bars.

What it takes when an old style system needs calibrating

Up to 1,000 kg of known weight is not something that is easy to do on a farm.

Cheaper old style systems

Not something you can easily do yourself.

  1. Up to 1,000 kgThe known weight a 2,000 kg system can need
  2. Ship the load bars backExtremely heavy to send to the manufacturer
  3. Pay a service feeA significant fee
  4. Back on the farmUntil the next knock

You would have to ship extremely heavy load bars back to the manufacturer and pay a significant service fee.

For the BT Ultra and BT ProGuard 600mm bars, with one 50 kg known weight. The bars are calibrated before shipping, so only do this if your readings drift.

  1. Switch on in calibration mode

Hold ZERO and switch the indicator on.

  2. Press ENTER through the settings

Leave every setting as it is.

  3. Set zero with nothing on the bars

Press ENTER at CAL SP with the platform empty.

  4. Key in your known weight

At CAL FS, change the figure to 50.0 kg.

  5. Put the 50 kg weight on the platform
  6. Press ENTER to confirm

The display reads 50.0 kg and the setting is saved.
