How AgriEID scales work
The bars capture the weight. The indicator sends it by Bluetooth. The app records it. The cloud turns it into weight gain.
Load bars
Two bars sit under a weighing platform (600mm bars) or bolt under the crush itself (5T Extreme). The load cells arrive pre-calibrated, so there is nothing to set up.
Bluetooth indicator
The indicator detects the bars and calibrates itself. Auto-hold locks the reading for a moving animal and sends it to your phone or tablet in real time.
AgriEID Lite app
Free on Apple and Android. Save each weight against a visual or EID tag with medical batches, notes and custom fields, with or without reception.
Cloud software
Upload a session and the cloud works out average daily gain and growth charts for each animal and each group. 12 months is included, and every session exports as a CSV.

A tubular sealed housing keeps rain, soil and manure away from the load cells, and the unibody design is light enough to move between weighing sites.
Setting up
Fit. The 600mm bars go under a weighing platform, alleyway or crate: secure them to a concrete pad with anchor bolts through the four mounting holes in each base plate, then attach the platform. They are not designed to be mounted under a cattle crush itself; the 5T Extreme is made for that. A platform build guide is included for a local welder.
Connect. Plug the two 5m cables into the indicator. It detects the bars and calibrates itself, so there is nothing to set up. The bars also plug into most TruTest and Gallagher indicators without calibration.
Power. Run the indicator from its 6V rechargeable battery in the handling pens, or from the 240V adapter in the shed.
Weigh. Open the free AgriEID Lite app and pair the indicator by Bluetooth. Each weight appears on your phone or tablet, ready to save with a tag, a medical batch and notes. No tag reader is needed: visual tags work, and a reader can be added at any time.
Add a tag reader. Scan the EID tag and the weight lands on the right animal with no typing. The BT Ultra Stick Reader costs less bought with the scales as a Digital Farm System package than on its own later.
New system versus old scale-head computers
Older more expensive systems have a computer built into the scales monitor to control the load bars and EID reader. Our system uses precision hardware connected via a modern and easy to use app on your mobile device so its much faster with a larger and easier to read colour screen.
You can enter data into our app with precision voice dictation – just click on the microphone on our mobile app and add notes. The older more expensive and cumbersome systems you need to type in data with a tiny physical Qwerty keyboard with your thumbs on poor quality screens you cant view in direct sunshine.

The AgriEID app makes it faster to capture the data and more flexible with the upload of the data to the AgriEID cloud or export as a csv file.
From a weight to a decision
By weighing and drafting with AgriEID, farmers can sell cattle in the optimum weight band for current market conditions as advised by their local auctioneer. This delivers a minimum 10–15% boost in annual income while also cutting treatment costs and reducing losses through accurate dosing. The weigh system typically pays for itself within 6–12 months.
